Most AI calculators work by combining generalized assumptions—injury severity, age, and broad categories of damages—into a rough range. That can be helpful when you’re trying to understand the structure of a settlement.
But spinal cord injury cases are evidence-driven. Two people can share the same diagnosis and still have very different outcomes depending on:
- what the medical records show about neurological function over time
- whether complications developed (for example, skin breakdown risk or respiratory issues)
- how quickly care was obtained after the incident
- how clearly the incident is tied to the injury in imaging and physician notes
When those details aren’t in the calculator inputs, the estimate can drift—either too low or unreasonably high.
