In many car wrecks, liability and insurance are fairly straightforward. With rideshare cases, you may have to navigate:
- More than one policy (platform coverage and possibly a driver’s personal policy)
- Timing questions (whether the driver was on an active trip, en route to a pickup, or operating in a different app status)
- Conflicting statements (what the driver remembers vs. what an adjuster later claims)
- Documentation that disappears (app data, ride confirmations, and vehicle/scene details)
Even if the other driver seems clearly at fault, insurers may still argue the rideshare coverage doesn’t apply—or try to reduce the value of your claim by disputing how your symptoms relate to the crash.
