Right after a crash, your priority is medical care. After that, focus on preserving the parts of your case that are easiest to lose in the days that follow—like witness details, app records, and timing.
Within 24 hours (if you can):
- Get the crash report and note the report number (or how to obtain it).
- Capture photos: vehicle positions, lane/intersection details, visible damage, and any hazards (debris, lighting issues, road conditions).
- Write down what you remember while it’s fresh: where the ride started, where you were headed, what the driver did right before impact, and when symptoms began.
- Save app info: ride confirmation, driver name/photo, trip time stamps, pickup/drop-off locations, and any in-app messages.
- Identify witnesses around the scene—especially near crosswalks, parking lots, and intersections where people frequently pause or gather.
Even if you used an AI tool to help organize your thoughts, you’ll still need a lawyer to translate those facts into a claim that insurers will take seriously.
