The first hours after a collision often determine what can be proven later.
1) Get medical care—then follow up. Even if you feel “okay,” some injuries (concussions, soft-tissue damage, back and neck issues) can show up later. In Texas, documenting treatment early helps connect your symptoms to the crash.
2) Preserve evidence while it’s still there. In Colleyville, traffic cameras and nearby business surveillance can be overwritten or retained briefly. If it’s safe, note:
- the intersection or roadway where the crash occurred
- crosswalk markings, signals, and lighting conditions
- vehicle description (make/model/color) and any visible damage
- witness names and contact info
- photos of the scene, your injuries, and the vehicle position
3) Don’t rush into recorded statements. Insurance adjusters may ask questions quickly. In Texas, what you say can be used to dispute fault, reduce injury severity, or challenge causation.
