Lauderdale Lakes is a mix of residential streets and higher-traffic areas where commutes, deliveries, and errands overlap. That often means pedestrian crashes involve:
- Turning movements at intersections where drivers are focused on traffic flow and not crosswalk users
- Late braking or missed yield when pedestrians are entering a crosswalk from the curb
- Day/night visibility issues—especially during evening hours when lighting and glare reduce reaction time
- Construction or changing traffic patterns that can affect sightlines (and give insurers an excuse to argue “drivers acted reasonably”)
Florida law allows insurers to argue shared fault, and they may push the idea that a pedestrian “should have been more careful.” Our job is to investigate the scene and build a persuasive timeline showing what the driver should to have seen—and what they did or didn’t do.
