In a lot of local injury cases, the early weeks decide what happens next. That’s because insurance adjusters typically look for inconsistencies between:
- When symptoms started (right away vs. days later)
- How quickly you sought care
- Whether your medical notes describe functional limits (sleep, work duties, lifting, driving, walking)
- Whether the incident details are documented (what occurred, where it occurred, who was present)
In California, delays in treatment can create questions, especially if the defense argues the condition is unrelated or pre-existing. You don’t always lose a case because of a delay—but you do need a strategy for addressing it with the right medical chronology and incident evidence.
