After a collision, your instinct might be to “wait and see.” But in neck/back cases, waiting can create avoidable problems later—especially if symptoms change, or if there’s a gap between the incident and treatment.
Here’s what we typically recommend to Goodyear clients:
- Get evaluated promptly (urgent care or a medical provider that documents the exam thoroughly). If you’re having numbness, weakness, trouble walking, or severe headaches, treat it as urgent.
- Write down what happened while it’s fresh. Include road conditions, traffic flow, what you saw right before impact, and any witnesses.
- Capture incident details you can safely document: vehicle damage, lane positioning, visible hazards, and any relevant screenshots (for example, dash-cam or photos you already have).
- Avoid recorded statements without counsel. Insurance adjusters may ask questions that sound simple but can be used to challenge causation or severity.
Even when imaging doesn’t immediately “look dramatic,” a documented timeline of pain, limited movement, and follow-up treatment can still support a credible claim.
