AI tools typically work by taking common claim patterns—medical expenses, treatment duration, and lost income—and combining them into a projected total. That can be useful when you’re trying to budget while you recover.
However, AI estimates often struggle with the details that matter most in real South Dakota claims, such as:
- How fault is disputed (for example, turn signals, right-of-way arguments, lane position, and witness accounts)
- Whether the injury story matches the medical record (timing of symptoms, diagnostic findings, follow-up care)
- Road and incident context (visibility, traffic flow, road conditions, and whether the rider had to take evasive action)
In other words: an AI calculator can estimate components, but it can’t “see” the evidence that insurers will rely on.
