An online calculator is best viewed as a planning tool, not a settlement promise. Most “AI” or automated estimate tools use generic patterns to approximate a range based on things like injury type, treatment duration, and wage loss.
But insurers in Ohio still decide value by looking closely at:
- Fault evidence (what the police report says, what witnesses observed, photos/video)
- Medical proof (diagnoses, imaging, treatment notes, follow-up care)
- Consistency (how quickly symptoms were documented after the crash)
- Damages documentation (bills, pay records, restrictions at work)
In other words, the calculator may give a ballpark—your claim’s documentation determines whether that ballpark is realistic.
