Most online calculators take the same basic approach: they look at inputs you provide (injury type, treatment timeline, time away from work, and sometimes crash circumstances) and then generate a rough range.
In real Minnesota cases, however, two claims with similar injuries can settle for very different amounts. The biggest drivers are usually:
- Fault and causation evidence (who is legally responsible for the crash)
- Quality and timing of medical documentation
- Consistency between how you described symptoms early on and what records later show
- Whether your treatment follows what your injuries require
That’s why a calculator’s number shouldn’t be treated like an offer you can safely accept. It’s better viewed as a worksheet—something that helps you identify what information matters before insurance negotiations begin.
