Online tools typically use a set of inputs (injury type, treatment length, wage loss) and then apply patterns from past cases. That means the number you see is only as good as what you enter.
In practice, motorcycle claim values can change quickly when any of the following are true:
- The crash involved a turning vehicle at a signal or uncontrolled intersection—fault disputes are common.
- Lane position and visibility are contested (e.g., headlight glare, weather, traffic density).
- Medical treatment timing is questioned—especially when symptoms evolve after the initial visit.
- Work was affected immediately (missed shifts) versus after restrictions were issued.
A calculator can’t resolve those disputes. What it can do is help you organize the information you’ll need for your attorney and for insurers.
