In the Lowcountry area, many people rely on a mix of urgent care visits, emergency departments, and follow-up appointments across different providers. It’s common to bounce between facilities, get results sent electronically, and then wait for callbacks.
When that system breaks down—especially when software flags risk but doesn’t fully understand the patient’s context—the “delay” may not look like neglect at first. It can look like normal process.
But legally, what matters is whether the care team responded reasonably to the information they had at the time. That includes whether abnormal findings were acted on, whether follow-up was scheduled appropriately, and whether AI-driven suggestions were verified instead of blindly trusted.
