Most online tools use simplified assumptions. They might ask about injury severity, treatment length, and bills—then output a range.
In a local malpractice claim, those inputs rarely capture the details that matter most, such as:
- Whether the provider documented the right symptoms and exam findings
- Whether the missed diagnosis would have changed the course of treatment
- Whether follow-up care occurred as expected (and whether warnings were acted on)
- How clinicians described prognosis and functional limitations
- Whether the timing of events is consistent with causation
A calculator can’t review the chart, reconcile conflicting notes, or evaluate medical causation the way a qualified attorney (and, when needed, medical experts) can.
