Settlement estimators online may ask for things like injury severity, treatment duration, and medical bills. That can be useful for understanding categories of damages.
However, Aiken-area residents often run into a common problem: the online questions can’t capture the details that matter in real disputes, such as:
- Whether the chart documents a missed red flag (symptoms, vitals, test results, or follow-up instructions)
- Whether a later provider had to “catch up” after an earlier error
- How quickly complications were recognized and what monitoring was actually ordered
- Whether pre-existing conditions were accounted for—especially when symptoms overlap
In other words, the calculator might generate a range, but it can’t confirm liability or causation—the two issues that control whether a claim can move forward and how strongly it can be negotiated.
