AI tools typically estimate outcomes using simplified inputs: severity of injury, length of recovery, medical costs, and sometimes non-economic effects. That can be helpful for understanding categories of damages.
But in practice, the number can drift away from reality when key Ohio case factors aren’t included, such as:
- Whether negligence can be proven with medical experts (standard of care and causation)
- Documentation gaps—common when treatment continues across multiple providers
- Timeline issues—especially if symptoms worsened after discharge or follow-up delays
- Ohio-specific case procedures that affect how early settlements form
A tool can’t reliably “read” the medical record the way a lawyer and retained experts do. In other words: think of the estimate as a flashlight, not a GPS.
