AI-based tools can be a starting point, especially when you want to understand the categories people commonly discuss in malpractice claims. But an automated answer can’t see the details that usually control value in an Ohio case.
In practice, settlement value often hinges on things like:
- whether the care fell below the accepted standard in that specific clinical context
- whether doctors can explain causation (not just that an injury happened)
- how long recovery realistically takes when symptoms persist or become permanent
- what documentation exists for treatment, follow-up, and functional limitations
Online calculators can’t review the medical record the way attorneys and medical experts do. And without that review, an “estimated range” can be misleading—either too low (leading to an unfair early resolution) or too high (creating pressure that undermines negotiation).
