When something goes wrong—wrong medication, delayed diagnosis, post-surgery complications, or a failure to respond to worsening symptoms—it can be hard to focus on anything except the future. An AI tool can seem like a shortcut because it offers a range based on the information you type in.
But two residents can enter similar answers and receive very different results because the tools can’t verify:
- whether the medical records support the timeline you entered
- whether causation is medically plausible (not just “it happened during care”)
- whether documentation matches what experts typically rely on in malpractice cases
