A calculator can’t review the medical record, evaluate standard-of-care issues, or test whether the provider’s actions actually caused the harm. That matters in Kansas because malpractice claims rise or fall on evidence:
- The standard of care for the specific situation (what a reasonably careful provider would do)
- Causation (whether the alleged negligence—not something else—caused the injury)
- Damages proof (what you can document and support with records)
In practice, two people can enter the same injury type into a tool and get dramatically different ranges because the tool is “guessing categories,” not analyzing documents.
