AI-generated ranges often look clear: enter injury details, get an estimate, and move on. That can be useful if you’re trying to understand categories—for example, medical bills, future care, and non-economic impacts like pain and reduced quality of life.
But a calculator can’t reliably capture the parts that usually matter most in Illinois medical negligence disputes:
- The timeline of symptoms, tests, and follow-up
- Whether escalation occurred when a patient’s condition changed
- Causation proof (medical experts explaining that the provider’s conduct caused the specific harm)
- Documentation quality (operative notes, orders, imaging interpretations, medication records)
In other words: an AI tool can suggest what you might claim, but it can’t determine what you can prove.
