Many people use an AI settlement calculator because it offers quick ranges for things like medical bills and pain-and-suffering. That can be useful as a starting point—especially if you’re gathering documents and trying to organize facts.
However, the biggest problem is that medical malpractice disputes are usually won or lost on details that don’t fit neatly into a form:
- Whether the provider’s conduct fell below the accepted standard of care for the specific situation
- Whether the negligence actually caused the harm (not just whether harm occurred)
- Whether later treatment was necessary because of the original mistake—not for unrelated reasons
- How well the records tell the timeline story
In other words, an estimate can’t replace the kind of evidence review a lawyer performs when building a claim.
