Many ER mistakes aren’t dramatic in the moment. They can look like:
- A discharge that didn’t match the symptoms you reported (especially when pain, breathing issues, or neurological symptoms were present)
- Triage delays during peak travel times or when the ER is crowded
- Abnormal lab or imaging results that weren’t addressed with the urgency your condition required
- Medication errors—wrong dose, missed allergies, or failure to account for existing prescriptions
- Incomplete instructions that lead to worsening after you leave
In a busy Eagle-area routine, it’s easy to assume the “system” will catch problems early. Unfortunately, ER records sometimes don’t tell the whole story unless they’re reviewed strategically.
