Central Oregon traffic patterns can change drastically by time of day and season. Drivers may be coming from work shifts, traveling between Bend and the Redmond area, or heading toward outdoor destinations where schedules run late and attention can slip. When a DUI crash happens on busy corridors or quieter stretches, witnesses may be nearby but hard to locate later, and available video from nearby businesses or traffic systems may be overwritten.
That’s why the first priority is practical: preserve the evidence that supports impairment and causation—before it disappears.
