Many online tools ask for basic details—when the bite happened, where it occurred, the type of treatment, and whether there are visible injuries. From there, the tool produces a rough range.
In Pullman, the biggest limitation is that calculators can’t see what matters most to adjusters and local case outcomes:
- How well the medical record ties the bite to your symptoms (and how consistently it describes the wound)
- Whether liability is disputed (common when the owner denies prior knowledge or questions what happened)
- Whether the dog’s bite created ongoing issues—scar sensitivity, restricted motion, infection complications, or anxiety around dogs
A calculator can be a starting point, but it shouldn’t be the decision-maker—especially if you’re considering accepting an early offer.
