A calculator may estimate a range by using inputs like:
- the bite location and depth of injury
- whether treatment required stitches, antibiotics, or specialist care
- whether there are visible marks or functional issues
- how long recovery took
But tools can’t reliably account for how a claim is handled in Washington or how evidence actually plays out—especially when:
- the dog owner disputes what happened
- medical records don’t match your account (even unintentionally)
- there’s a question about whether the bite was preventable
- the dog’s history is unclear
Bottom line: use a calculator to understand categories of losses, not to predict the final number you’ll receive.
