An online calculator is usually built to generate a rough range using inputs like:
- where the bite happened (home, yard, sidewalk, workplace)
- how the injury was treated
- whether stitches or follow-up care were needed
- the presence of visible marks or lingering symptoms
Those estimates can be useful when you’re trying to ask, “Is this offer in the ballpark?”
However, calculators can’t reliably account for the details that often matter most in Washington—such as how clearly the bite is documented, whether liability is disputed, and whether the medical record shows lasting impacts (not just the initial wound).
A calculator should help you prepare questions, not predict your final number.
