Most calculators work by asking you to plug in a few details (like treatment type, whether you have visible injuries, and how long recovery took). That can be helpful for understanding categories of damages.
But a calculator can’t see what matters most in a Cedar City claim:
- Whether the dog and owner can be connected to the incident through documentation or witnesses
- How your medical records describe the wound (depth, infection risk, follow-up care)
- Whether the insurer disputes causation—for example, claiming the injury wasn’t severe or wasn’t caused by the bite
- How quickly you reported and treated the injury, which affects credibility and damages documentation
In other words, the calculator may generate a range, but Utah law and the strength of your proof determine what you can realistically recover.
