AI tools typically work like this: you enter a few facts, the calculator outputs a range, and you’re left to guess what it means.
In practice, two Lockhart claims with the “same” medical headline can end up with very different outcomes because insurers weigh:
- Whether the dog’s owner had notice of aggressive tendencies (or ignored warning signs)
- What happened right before the bite—including whether the person was in a public area lawfully or was targeted
- How well your medical records connect the bite to your current condition
- Whether treatment is complete or ongoing, which affects both present and future costs
In other words, an AI range can be directionally useful, but it’s not a substitute for case review.
