A calculator can be useful for planning, but it can’t account for:
- How the bite happened (controlled yard situation vs. visitor encounter vs. public interaction)
- What your records actually show (wound depth, infection treatment, follow-up care)
- How quickly you sought care and whether documentation aligns with your account
- Whether the owner knew or should have known about risky behavior
- How South Carolina liability questions get argued when insurance wants to narrow responsibility
In other words, the “number” depends less on what you type into a form and more on whether your medical treatment and evidence tell a consistent story.
