A calculator can be useful for thinking through categories of damages—like medical bills, treatment follow-ups, and impacts on daily life. But it usually can’t account for the details that matter in real Port Royal cases, such as:
- Whether the incident happened in a high-traffic area (tourist-adjacent locations, parks, busy sidewalks) where witnesses and video are more likely
- Whether the bite involved a child, delivery worker, or visitor—and how that affects witness accounts and medical documentation
- How quickly you sought care and whether the wound needed additional treatment
- Whether liability is disputed based on what the owner knew (or should have known)
In other words, an online tool can’t weigh credibility, review medical narratives, or predict how an adjuster will challenge causation.
