Tools online can be useful for understanding categories of damages, but they don’t know the details that matter in real Summit claims, such as:
- Where the bite occurred (a driveway, a neighbor’s property, a shared walkway, or during a visit)
- Whether the dog was effectively restrained or whether access was allowed despite known behavior risks
- How quickly you received treatment and how consistently your symptoms were recorded
- Whether there were witnesses (common in residential neighborhoods and during community activities)
An online estimator may assume a “clean” liability story. Real cases often involve disputed facts—especially when the defense suggests the dog was provoked, the incident was misunderstood, or the injury wasn’t as severe as described.
