A settlement calculator typically uses an injury description to generate a rough range. That can be useful for planning questions like “Will surgery change the outcome?” or “Do scarring injuries increase value?”
However, Lodi cases often turn on details that are hard to input into an online form:
- Where the bite occurred (sidewalks, apartment/common areas, near transit or school drop-offs)
- How quickly you got treatment and whether follow-up care was documented
- Whether the dog owner reported the incident and how the timeline matches medical records
- The nature of witnesses (neighbors, building residents, passersby who saw the moment)
When those facts are missing, a calculator’s range can be too low—or sometimes unrealistically high if liability is disputed.
