Most calculators work by asking you to choose categories—how severe the bite looks, what treatment you received, whether there are visible marks. That can provide a starting point.
However, insurers in Massachusetts often evaluate claims based on evidence that an AI tool can’t truly confirm, such as:
- Whether the medical records describe the bite in a way that matches your timeline
- Whether wound documentation supports the severity (including depth and infection risk)
- Whether there’s proof of where and how the dog got access
- Whether the owner had notice of aggressive behavior (when that evidence exists)
In other words, the calculator can’t “see” the parts adjusters focus on when they decide whether to pay quickly, negotiate, or push back.
