Most calculators work like this: you enter a few details (injury type, treatment, timeline), and the tool outputs a range. That range can be directionally useful—but it can also be wrong for your situation if key facts aren’t captured.
In northeast Indiana, dog bite claims often turn on details like:
- Whether the medical record clearly ties your wound to the incident (not just “a bite occurred,” but what caused what)
- How quickly treatment was sought after the bite
- Whether your recovery is consistent with the severity described (especially if there are gaps in documentation)
- Whether the owner’s knowledge or prior behavior issues can be shown through witnesses, animal control reports, or communications
A calculator can’t evaluate those items the way an attorney can—so treat it as education, not a promise.
