AI tools usually work by taking inputs like wound location, treatment timeline, and whether you had follow-up care—then mapping those details to a generalized settlement range.
That can be useful if you’re deciding whether to pursue a claim or you want to understand what kinds of losses are typically considered.
But it can mislead when:
- The injury evolves after the first visit (swelling, infection risk, scarring, reduced mobility)
- Your medical notes don’t clearly connect symptoms to the bite
- Liability is disputed (for example, the owner claims the dog was provoked or restrained)
- You’re dealing with anxiety/fear around dogs after the incident
In California, those gaps matter. A calculator can’t review the strength of evidence or help you present a claim that matches what juries and adjusters expect to see.
