An online tool may generate a range based on general assumptions (wound severity, treatment duration, and similar inputs). But in Ripon, the outcome of a claim often turns on questions that a calculator can’t reliably answer, such as:
- Whether the dog was properly supervised or restrained at the time of the bite
- Whether the incident happened on private property, a shared area, or near a public-facing location
- How quickly the injury was documented and whether medical records clearly connect treatment to the bite
- Whether there’s clear proof of liability (owner knowledge, prior behavior, witnesses, photos)
A calculator can be useful as a starting point—but it should not be the basis for accepting an early offer before your medical picture is fully understood.
