Dog bite claims in dense, everyday neighborhoods can escalate quickly because details get blurred after the fact—especially when the incident happens near places people frequently pass by (apartment courtyards, busy sidewalks, or shared residential areas).
Insurers may attempt to narrow the claim by arguing:
- the bite was minor or didn’t require significant care
- the dog wasn’t on the premises long enough to be considered “at fault”
- the owner had no reason to know the dog might bite
- the injury worsened later due to something other than the bite
That’s where an estimator can mislead. A calculator can’t verify witness credibility, confirm timelines, or interpret medical notes that insurers may later use to reduce damages.
