Online calculators can be a starting point, but they can’t see what insurers will scrutinize in California:
- Medical causation: whether your treatment records align with the bite.
- Severity documentation: depth of wounds, infection risk, and whether follow-up care was necessary.
- Owner knowledge: whether there were signs of aggression before the incident.
- Comparative credibility issues: how statements and timing affect what adjusters accept.
In other words, a calculator may suggest a range, but your settlement depends on proof. The sooner you organize that proof, the less likely you are to accept a number that doesn’t match your recovery.
