In the days after a collision, it’s common for the vehicle to be towed, diagnosed, and repaired—often quickly. In Mercedes-area practice, we frequently see cases where:
- the failed component is replaced before a full inspection is completed
- diagnostic trouble codes are cleared during reprogramming or repairs
- repair invoices describe the fix but don’t capture the full failure mode
- insurance adjusters push for recorded statements before you’ve had medical stability
When that happens, the biggest challenge becomes proving causation—that the part defect (not maintenance, not unrelated wear, not a different cause) contributed to the crash and your losses.
