In suburban traffic, the “chain reaction” can be unforgiving. A momentary system failure—traction control cutting out, a sensor malfunction, overheating that leads to loss of power, or a brake performance issue—can cause drivers to brake late, misjudge distance, or lose control at intersections and merging lanes.
Those circumstances often produce two problems for injured people:
- Evidence disappears quickly. Vehicles get repaired, parts are discarded, and diagnostic data can be overwritten.
- Insurance arguments move quickly. Adjusters may claim maintenance issues, driver error, or “normal wear” instead of addressing whether the part was unreasonably unsafe.
That means the first days after a suspected defective auto part failure matter more than many people realize.
