After a jobsite injury, the fastest way to protect your case is to control the first 72 hours:
- Get medical care and follow-up treatment. Texas juries and adjusters look closely at whether injuries were documented promptly and consistently.
- Preserve jobsite context. If it’s safe, capture photos/video of the hazard, signage, barriers, lighting conditions, and the path workers used to move materials.
- Write down your memory while it’s fresh. Note who was directing work, what equipment was in use, what you were asked to do, and how the accident happened.
- Be careful with recorded statements. Insurers may ask questions that sound routine, but answers can be used to narrow responsibility.
If you’re already dealing with an insurer or a contractor asking for information, you don’t have to guess what to say. A quick case review can prevent costly missteps.
