Construction sites don’t pause when someone gets hurt. In the first days after an incident, you may see:
- Work resumes quickly, and hazards can be cleaned up or removed before anyone takes photographs.
- Statements get requested informally, including by supervisors, dispatchers, or project managers.
- Multiple companies (general contractor, subcontractors, equipment providers) share responsibility, and each may point to someone else.
- Traffic-adjacent conditions—detours, loading areas, pedestrian walkways, and vehicle movement—can influence how the accident is later characterized.
When that happens, the difference between a claim that gets valued and a claim that gets delayed is often how well the early record is built.
