Chemical exposure cases are won or lost early. If you think you were exposed, start by:
- Get medical care promptly (urgent care or ER if symptoms are severe or worsening). Tell clinicians exactly what you were around and when.
- Document the scene while it’s fresh: photos of labels, containers, posted safety signage, ventilation issues, and the general conditions at the time.
- Request incident and safety records through the proper channels. For many claims, the most important documents are the ones people don’t think to request until later.
- Avoid recorded statements to insurers or facility representatives without legal guidance. Even well-intended comments can be used to narrow or deny the claim.
Ohio courts and insurers expect claims to be supported by credible records and consistent timelines. The goal isn’t to “guess” what happened—it’s to build a defensible account.
