Online tools typically rely on broad patterns: burn severity, treatment history, and time away from work. That can be useful for planning questions, but it’s not the same as a legal evaluation.
In Texas, insurance carriers often focus early on two things:
- Consistency of the timeline (how quickly treatment happened, and whether follow-up care matches the claimed severity)
- Causation (whether the injury pattern and medical notes support that this specific incident caused the burn)
A calculator can’t measure those issues. Your claim value can hinge on whether documentation lines up—especially when a burn injury develops complications later (infection, nerve pain, scarring that worsens, or range-of-motion limitations).
