Burn injuries can look “stable” early and then change—sometimes after swelling goes down, after dressings are reduced, or after you return to work and realize certain movements or temperatures trigger severe pain. That pattern is familiar in Texas, where many people have to resume activity while still healing.
That’s why an AI tool’s range can feel misleading:
- Early healing isn’t the whole story (scarring and sensitivity can develop later).
- Work impact can grow (missed shifts, modified duties, or reduced productivity).
- Insurance may request a quick statement before your treatment plan is finalized.
A calculator can’t reliably predict whether your burn will require ongoing scar care, additional procedures, or therapy that affects mobility.
