Burn claims aren’t valued like a simple estimate of “medical bills + a little extra.” Settlement discussions typically hinge on items that a calculator can’t properly read from your life, including:
- Whether the burn depth and affected areas match the incident you reported (and how consistent your medical notes are)
- The credibility of your treatment timeline—especially if there were delays in care, supply issues, or complications
- Whether your injury impacts work in a way that matters for your specific job duties (lifting, operating equipment, repetitive motion, dexterity, heat exposure requirements)
- Proof of future needs—such as scar management, follow-up procedures, therapy, and symptom monitoring
A tool may suggest a range, but it can’t see operative reports, wound progression photos, therapy notes, or the functional limitations your providers document.
