An online calculator may ask for details like burn type, treatment, or visible scarring. But it can’t:
- review your actual medical records from the emergency department, follow-up burn clinic visits, or treating specialists
- evaluate function and mobility (range of motion, dexterity, nerve pain) that can affect work long-term
- predict whether you’ll need additional procedures later, which is a common issue in deeper burns
In North Carolina, insurance adjusters often focus on documentation and consistency. If an AI tool’s assumptions don’t match your medical timeline, it can lead you to underestimate the value of future care—or overestimate what the insurer will concede.
