In smaller communities, people may know each other—or know the location where the incident happened. That can be helpful for witness accounts, but it can also mean statements get repeated informally before a claim is ready.
Insurance adjusters may focus on:
- How quickly you were treated after the burn
- Whether your records match the reported mechanism (scald, flame, chemical, electrical)
- Whether follow-up care was consistent (dermatology, physical/occupational therapy)
A calculator can’t verify those details. For that, you need documentation—medical notes, photos taken during treatment, and incident information that ties the injury to the responsible party.
