Online tools generally work by matching your inputs to patterns from other cases. They can’t review:
- emergency and follow-up burn documentation (depth, location, progression)
- dermatologist or burn specialist notes about scarring and sensitivity
- therapy records showing range-of-motion limits
- medical causation linking the burn pattern to the incident described
That matters because burns don’t always look the same after the first day. In New York, insurers may scrutinize the timeline—especially if there’s any gap between the incident and treatment. A calculator can’t tell whether your care was consistent and medically necessary. Only your records can.
