Burn injuries don’t always “stay small.” A scald that looks minor can deepen, and a burn from hot equipment can lead to delayed complications like infection, nerve pain, or scar changes over time.
In Geneva and the surrounding area, we commonly see burn claims where the insurer argues one of three things:
- The burn doesn’t match the alleged source (for example, a workplace description that conflicts with the burn pattern).
- Treatment was delayed or inconsistent (sometimes due to access to specialists, scheduling, or confusion about follow-up care).
- The injury impact is exaggerated (insurers may focus on what you could still do early on, even if function changed later).
That’s why a calculator shouldn’t be treated like a decision—its “range” can’t confirm which proof issues you’ll face, or how strong your medical timeline will be.
