Burn injuries don’t follow a simple timeline. What looks minor during the first ER visit can evolve into deeper tissue damage, scarring that worsens months later, nerve sensitivity, or range-of-motion problems.
Many AI or calculator tools also assume the same outcomes for everyone. But insurers in Louisiana typically focus on things a generic tool can’t see, such as:
- Whether your burn severity matches the story of how it occurred
- Whether follow-up care was consistent (and medically necessary)
- How the injury affected your ability to work—especially in jobs common to the area like industrial, construction, healthcare, hospitality, and logistics
- Whether the medical record supports future treatment needs
In other words: a calculator may generate a range, but it can’t verify causation or prognosis. In a claim, those two items often determine whether an insurer negotiates fairly.
